What is API ?

What is an API ?

API stands for Application Programming Interface which it the engine behind the hood. It's a communication protocol which help to connect your phone or pc to an another phone or pc or even servers.

API takes your request and deliver to the server then result of the server takes to your phone. That's how the API works.

As an example, suppose you are sitting on a table of a restaurant with a menu of choices to order from. What is missing to take your order from your table to the kitchen and deliver back your food from the kitchen to your table. In this case waiter or API comes in.

You might be always using API without knowing. When you book flight tickets from online you ask that ypu want tickets for particular date or time then it checks tell you that they can provide you or not and it's all able possible because of the use of API.
